The IWM is proud to announce that Paul Cristian Radu, a former Milena Jesenská Visiting Fellow at the IWM, is one of the investigative journalists behind the Panama Papers – a leaked set of 11.5 million confidential documents that provide detailed information about more than 214,000 offshore companies, including the identities of shareholders and directors of the companies.
Paul Radu is the executive director of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and a co-creator of the Investigative Dashboard concept and of RISE Project, a new platform for investigative reporters and hackers in Romania.
He is the recipient of numerous awards including in 2004, the Knight International Journalism Award and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award, in 2007, the Global Shining Light Award, the Tom Renner Investigative Reporters and Editors Award and in 2011 the Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding International Investigative Reporting.
In 2002, Paul Cristian Radu was a Milena Jesenská Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna. The Fellowship Programme was established by the IWM as well as by the European Cultural Foundation and is supported by Project Syndicate and ERSTE Foundation.
