This fellowship program, established by the Körber Foundation and the IWM, awarded Visiting Fellowships and Junior Visiting Fellowships on “History and Memory in Europe” in the years 2007-2008. The objective was to support projects that contribute to a trans-national perspective on modern European history. By focussing on the discursive
construction of Europe, projects particularly reflected on the role of historiography as well
as the position and significance of memory. The six-month fellowships enabled junior and senior scholars to work in Vienna on a research project of their choice within the framework of the program’s objective.
